KARIN JOHANSSON

Associate professor Karin Johansson, born in Sweden 1952, Registered physiotherapist 1973 and Specialist in lymphedema treatment 1988. PhD at Department of Health Sciences, Lund University 2002 with the thesis “Lymphedema and Breast Cancer. A physiotherapeutic approach”. Associate professor 2012. Promoter of 20 works by students and 3 PhD student on-going.

First author or co-author of 30 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and of 4 book chapters, more than 60 communications in national and/or international meetings. Research gate score 23.8, citations 800, h-index 16. Peer-reviewer in more than 20 international papers.

Member of Executive Committee of ISL and the Swedish Lymphology Society, and member of ILF and ICC. Editor of the Swedish Guidelines for Lymphedema and co-author of the Swedish guidelines for Cancer Rehabilitation, co-author of 3 national information web-sites, advisor to the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare, and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions.

Founder of the Lymphedema Unit, Division of  Cancer Rehabilitation, Department of Oncology, Skåne University Hospital, Lund, Sweden. Present employment.

Recent research focus on early diagnosis as well as physical activity for prevention and treatment of arm lymphedema following breast cancer treatment, and measurement of health related quality of life for lymphedema patients.
